About Scosam Adventures
Scosam Adventure was born from two things: a deep love for the Ugandan wilderness, and an even deeper love for the children who grow up in its shadow. We are a family-run safari and tour company based in Uganda, owned and run by a husband-and-wife team, Sam and Scovia, whose own story is woven into everything we do.
How It All Began
Sam spent years working as a tour guide across Uganda, falling more in love with the country’s landscapes, wildlife, and people with every trip he led. It was through this work that he first met Scovia, who was working at a tourist lodge at the time. What began as a friendship between two people who shared a genuine passion for Uganda’s natural beauty grew, over time, into a marriage and a shared purpose.
While Sam was out on the road with visitors from all over the world, he kept meeting something else along the way: children in the rural communities surrounding the Rwenzori Mountains who simply couldn’t get the education they deserved. Not because they lacked the will to learn, but because their schools lacked the basic resources to teach them properly, from textbooks and desks to, in some areas, a school close enough to reasonably walk to.
Sam would come home and tell Scovia about the children he’d met that day, and Scovia, who had always felt a particular pull toward children’s welfare, listened. Conversation by conversation, trip by trip, an idea began to take shape between them: what if the very thing that gave them their livelihood, guiding travelers through this extraordinary landscape, could also be the thing that gave these children a better chance?
Turning an Idea Into Scosam Adventure
That idea became Scosam Adventure, a name that carries both of their names within it, much as the company carries both of their values. We built this company around a simple belief: that a safari shouldn’t just be an unforgettable experience for the traveler, it should also leave something behind for the communities that make that experience possible in the first place.
Every tour we run, every itinerary we build, and every guest we welcome plays a direct part in this. A meaningful share of what we earn goes back into supporting children and schools in the communities around the Rwenzori Mountains, the very places where Sam once listened to children’s stories and knew something had to change.
Who We Are Today
Scosam Adventure remains a genuinely hands-on, family-led business. Sam and Scovia are still directly involved in the trips we plan and the causes we support, not distant owners overseeing things from afar.
